The only way this works is if you have brand new painted lines on a brand new road. Any cars ahead or beside you confuses it, and it cant distinguish lanes. Oh! And dont bother using it if there is any snow on the road, or litter, or buildings near, or clouds in the sky, and for the love of god, dont drive down a road with a curve, a hill or make any turns!
